Softball

As the costs to run premier collegiate athletics programs continue to escalate, we are working to secure the future of the UND Softball program. 

The total annual cost of scholarships for the Softball team is $360,000. Scholarships are covered by Impact Scholarships, Endowments, and the North Dakota Champions Club. In FY22, 12 scholarships were awarded. Today, our cost of scholarships outweighs what we’re able to provide. We have $359,732 in unfulfilled scholarship needs.

Impact Scholarships

Impact Scholarships help offset the cost of annual scholarships. Gifts to Impact Scholarships are not invested; rather, 100% of your yearly pledge will directly benefit a student-athlete scholarship. Contact a gift officer to learn more. 

Endowed Scholarships

Endowed scholarships are an investment into the future, providing perpetual financial support that increases over time. To lay the permanent groundwork for UND Athletics, we need to increase our scholarship endowments to support student-athletes now and in the future. The 1889 Legacy Society includes donors who have confirmed testamentary commitments through the UND Alumni Association & Foundation in their will or estate plan. Albretch Field

Albrecht Field fulfills the dream of bringing UND softball back to campus through a public-private partnership and the support of generous lead donors Dave and Alexa Albrecht. The new softball stadium that will rival any program in the area to further enhance the growth of intercollegiate athletics at the University of North Dakota.The stadium, which is slated to be completed by fall 2024, will feature:

• 500 spectator seats
• LED videoboard
• A large deck for spectators in left field
• Dual-purpose batting cage/bullpen
• State-of-the-art turf
