Forever UND
The Campaign for the University of North Dakota
Together, we embark on a $500 million fundraising campaign to build a University of North Dakota for the future: a future where people are empowered to make a difference and where the torch of knowledge is passed on to those who will lead the way.
We do. We lead. We are forever UND.Forever UND is guided by collaborative input from stakeholders and the UND LEADS strategic plan. It is focused on fundraising for four important areas.
Student Scholarships
In 2023, UND increased its enrollment by the largest margin in a decade. The key? Increasing scholarship offerings to recruit and retain students.
Faculty & Research
One chair or professor can touch the lives of many through the courses they teach, the students they mentor or simply through their academic work.

The Norman & Ann Hoffman Family Foundation makes a large STEM gift that honors years of passionate UND support from Norman Hoffman, ’59.
Lori (Barsness) Maurer’s roots run deep at the University of North Dakota. Ten years ago, she created a scholarship to benefit UND student-athletes and recently renewed her gift as the account grew.
Dan and Jolene Mikkelson of Grand Forks have made a $5 million gift to fund scholarships at their alma mater, the University of North Dakota. The gift will fund student scholarships.
UND Softball student-athlete serves as a Campus Captain to spread mental health awareness among her peers.
Esports is one the fastest-growing industries in the world, and UND is playing a clutch role in North Dakota, launching the state’s first esports undergraduate degree in the fall of 2022.
Dr. Robert A. Kyle, ’48, made his first gift to the University of North Dakota in April 1962 and 62 years later he remains one of the longest living benefactors in the University's history.
