Let your thanks fly!
Students, join us for the 2026 Notes from the Nest event! This is your time to express gratitude to the donors who support your scholarships by writing thank you notes.
Free food will be provided to students who participate. There will also be a drawing to win an ADDITIONAL $1,250 scholarship!
Spread the word, bring a friend, and be there for UND’s largest gratitude event of year!
2025 Recap
The third annual Notes From the Nest continued to be a success, surpassing participation of the previous year's event. Over two days, 2,100+ students came to the Memorial Union to write more than 3,400 thank you cards to scholarship donors. After the event, more than 1,000 digital thank you notes were submitted by online students and those who could not attend.
The combined efforts from students at the event and online brought the overall thank you note count beyond 4,400!
The event wouldn't have been possible without the help of 70+ volunteers from across campus. This year's event was smoother than ever with a more efficient check-in/check-out process and a revamped method of sending online notes to donors.
News & Awards
In 2024, the University of North Dakota Alumni Association & Foundation received a prestigious international Circle of Excellence Award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
In the inaugural event, over 3,650 thank you notes were written as students let their thanks fly in a special way.
