Open Positions
Gorecki Alumni Center – Student Event Coordinator
The Student Event Coordinator will execute events on behalf of the Gorecki Alumni Center and Hopper Danley Spiritual Center. They are required to ensure that events at the Gorecki Alumni Center and the Hopper Danley Spiritual Center are executed to reflect the level of prestige of the buildings and organization. The Student Event Coordinator will handle all on-site logistics related to the event, ensuring an excellent client experience. This position requires a flexible work schedule and serves as venue contact for mornings, weekdays, weeknights and weekend event clients. This position requires the GAC Event Coordinator to be available evenings and weekends to support GAC events. This person must have a demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work as part of a team in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
- Coordinate events for Gorecki Alumni Center & Hopper Danley Spiritual Center clients ensuring all event logistics are confirmed and accurate upon client’s arrival. To include event layout, technology, and vendor coordination.
- Utilize software and checklists to direct pre- and post-event processes to ensure that event execution and services provided meet the clients’ needs and events are run efficiently.
- Greet client upon arrival and effectively handle last-minute changes or requests while also using resources and skills to solve problems as they arise.
- Throughout the event, proactively monitor the event spaces and check in with clients, addressing changes or problems. Respond to client and guest questions or requests.
- Serve as the point person for delivers and vendors such as décor, audio visual, sound, and light teams, etc
- Post-event cleanup, lock up building, noting issues that need attention by event manager
- Other duties as assigned. (i.e. UND Alumni Association & Foundation commencement events, internal staff events, and Football Tailgate setup)
- Assist with Gorecki Alumni Center Event Setup Crew to assure accuracy of event set up and venue preparation.
- Ensure most recent floor plan created by Event Manager is being utilized for proper room setup
Education Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Physical & Cognitive Requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and timelines
- Physical ability to move, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
- Work flexible hours dependent on event schedule
- Ability to function in a both a team-based environment (2-5 people) and individually
- Ability to see, read and comprehend written and visual material
- Finger, hand, and wrist dexterity
Gorecki Alumni Center – Event Setup Crew
The Event Setup Crew is responsible for all setup and takedown of event-related equipment including tables, chairs, stages, etc. The event crew also cleans event spaces before and after events. Hours are event dependent and will vary week to week and will include early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Functions
- Help set up and take down event equipment, furniture, and technology for dinners, conferences, and weddings in multiple event spaces.
- Accurately interpret floor plans created by event manager for proper room setup
- Transport, move and lift furniture (table, chairs, stages, etc.)
- Clean event spaces to include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, removal of garbage, etc.
- Other duties as assigned. (i.e. UND Alumni Association & Foundation Football Tailgate setup)
