Why I Wear Green

I get to be part of meaningful work that supports student success and the continued growth of the University of North Dakota. Several members of my family are alums, which strengthens my connection and makes UND feel like home. What stands out most is the strong sense of tradition, community, and shared purpose that brings people together. Being part of this environment inspires me to honor its legacy while helping build a bright future for the next generation.

Overview

Karen oversees Corporate and Foundation Relations data, helping ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity across systems. She also serves as a key liaison between UND campus partners and UNDAAF, collaborating with leaders to strengthen partnerships and improve data-sharing efforts.

Outside of work, Karen is a passionate sports fan (“Go Hawks!”), an enthusiastic tree grower (“you can’t have too many trees in North Dakota”), and – best of all – a proud grandmother.

Qualifications

• BBA, Pacific Lutheran University
• Certified Six Sigma Black Belt 

Knowledge

Karen brings extensive experience in program management, process improvement, and operations, with a strong background in using data to improve reporting, streamline processes, and support strategic decision-making. She is known for her collaborative, detail-oriented approach and ability to build strong cross-team partnerships — key strengths in supporting effective relationship management and data integrity at UNDAAF.
