Career
Hailing from Grand Forks originally, Darla Adams has more than 30 years of experience in the nursing field in specialty areas including labor and delivery, intensive care, and nurse anesthesia. Darla has had an academic association with UND since 1989 and has held multiple positions within the University including Director of the Nurse Anesthesia Program, Associate Dean of Graduate Nursing, Interim Chief Nurse Administrator, and Associate Dean of the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines.
Additionally, Darla maintained a clinical nurse anesthesia practice through much of her career. Currently, she consults in the area of nursing education, strategic planning, and nursing and nurse anesthesia educational accreditation. Darla is a partner in Adams Family Farm, a family owned and operated 9,000+ acre agri-business specializing in sugar beets, small grains, soybeans, and hemp. The company also produces, processes, and exports specialty beans worldwide.
Community
Darla has served on a number of local nonprofit boards over many years. She is currently the chair-elect of the Grand Forks Community Violence and Intervention Center (CVIC) Board of Directors.
