Andrew Abernathey
Founder & Chief Executive Officer, Abernathey Holdings
Terms served: 2025-2028

Career
Andrew is founder and CEO of Abernathey Holdings (AH), a leading real estate holding company driven by a passion for business and inspired by the value investing approach of Warren Buffett and the simplicity approach of Gary Tharaldson. His investing journey began at age 13, exploring a range of public securities.
Established in August 2012, AH initially pursued a diverse investment strategy. In 2019, the focus shifted to developing and owning class-A self-storage facilities across the sunbelt region, while also owning the operating companies to ensure vertical integration. This streamlined approach has enhanced returns and propelled AH to achieve remarkable market-beating results, elevating assets under management to an impressive $250 million.
Andrew also co-founded Abernathey Brothers Farm, an agricultural enterprise spanning multiple locations in Lansford and Bottineau, North Dakota, with a focus on planting, growing, and harvesting thousands of acres of small grains, which are sold in the open market.
Andrew and his wife Lacey live in Fargo. They have three children named Christian, James, and August.
Community
Andrew is actively engaged in the nonprofit sector through the Abernathey Foundation, which collaborates with Unseen, a Fargo-based organization, to combat global human trafficking. Abernathey Foundation empowers individuals by teaching them skills that provide long-term solutions, rather than relying solely on monetary donations.
