Three Added to Board of Directors

Three distinguished professionals have joined the University of North Dakota Alumni Association & Foundation (UNDAAF) Board of Directors. Sheri Haugen-Hoffart, Ann Kerian Fish, and F. John Williams III began three-year terms on July 1, 2026, bringing extensive experience in leadership, public service, communications, business, and philanthropy to the organization.

"Each of these leaders exemplifies the values of the University of North Dakota through their professional achievements, commitment to service, and dedication to strengthening their communities. Their diverse perspectives and deep connection to UND will help advance our mission of engaging alumni and friends while creating opportunities that support students, faculty and programs across the University."

Sheri Haugen-Hoffart, ’88

Haugen-Hoffart serves as a commissioner on the North Dakota Public Service Commission, a position she has held since 2022. In that role, she oversees matters related to utility regulation, pipeline safety, renewable energy reclamation, consumer affairs, and cybersecurity. She brings more than three decades of human resources and government administration experience to the board. 

A UND graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree from the University of Mary, Haugen-Hoffart serves on several national and regional boards focused on utility regulation and transportation policy. She will serve on the Alumni Relations & Development Committee and the Recruitment & Governance Committee. 

Ann Kerian Fish, ’91

Fish, a resident of Palm Desert, California, is a motivational speaker, executive coach, media consultant and founder of Ann Kerian: Consulting & Coaching, LLC. She works with organizations and individuals on leadership development, communication strategies, and media training. MSN.com recognized her as one of the Top 10 Leading Speakers to Follow in 2025, and she has been honored as Speaker of the Year by the National Association of Catering Executives. 

Before launching her consulting and coaching practice, Fish spent more than 15 years as an award-winning television journalist and news anchor. She has also served in numerous volunteer leadership roles supporting education, health, and community organizations. Fish will serve on the Alumni Relations & Development Committee and the Recruitment & Governance Committee.

F. John Williams III

Williams is co-chair of the Trusts & Estates Department at Fredrikson & Byron P.A., where he advises business owners, farmers, ranchers and professionals on estate planning, business succession and wealth preservation strategies. Widely recognized for his legal expertise, he has earned numerous honors from organizations including The Best Lawyers in America, the Chambers High Net Worth Guide and the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. 

An active community volunteer in the Fargo-Moorhead region, Williams currently serves as president of the Oak Grove Lutheran School Foundation Board and has held leadership positions with several nonprofit and economic development organizations. He will serve on the Audit Committee and Finance Committee. 

The UNDAAF Board of Directors provides strategic leadership and governance for the organization, helping advance philanthropic support, alumni engagement and advocacy efforts that benefit the University of North Dakota and its students.
 
There are thirty members of the UNDAAF board: 22 are alumni, three are friends of UND, and five are ex-officio members.
