August 22, 2022

Dear Alumni and Friends,

Tomorrow is a big day at the Gorecki Alumni Center as we’ll be hosting our annual State of the UND Alumni Association & Foundation Address. I’ll reveal the results of our Fiscal Year 2022 fundraising efforts and look at what the future holds for our organization and UND.

One of the highlights of the event will be special recognition of the 10-year anniversary of the Gorecki Alumni Center. It’s hard to imagine that we have had this tremendous asset for ten years; it seems only yesterday that we had Ben and Dorothy Gorecki here for the grand opening!

As part of our research into the ten years that we’ve operated out of this building, we added up the numbers and realized that we have raised more than $450 million since moving in. That means our FY22 total might push us over the half-billion dollar mark! Even though you are an insider, I’m going to make you wait until tomorrow to find out if we made it.

The Address has become an important event to the UNDAAF and we look forward to sharing it with you. We have more than 200 people registered to attend in person and more than that have opted to view a livestream of the Address. You can view the livestream beginning at 4:50 p.m. on our website, UNDalumni.org/address.

It’s going to be a great day!

Memorial Village renderingMemorial Village

On Thursday of this week, there will be a great opportunity for the public to learn more about the Memorial Village project at a groundbreaking event. The building, at the site of the former Memorial Stadium grandstand, is a public/private partnership between UND and a private development company, Memorial Village LLC.

The ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the corner of N. Columbia & 2nd Ave N. If you're interested in attending, you can still register at UNDalumni.org/memorial-village.

Fall Semester

It’s exciting to have students back on campus! UND staff got some much-deserved shoutouts from parents and students during Welcome Weekend. Let the fall semester, and all the excitement and fun it entails, begin!

Thank you for all you do for UND and its outstanding students. Have a wonderful week.

Sincerely,
