Homecoming 2012 is sure to be fantastic! With events ranging from an elegant award ceremony to the grand opening of our historic Gorecki Alumni Center, to the fanfare of the parade, tailgating and UND football, we are thrilled to share in the festivities with UND students, staff, faculty, alumni and friends!

Monday, October 8

      • Homecoming Kickoff Breakfast (7:30-9:30 a.m.), UND Campus
        To get everyone on campus in the UND Homecoming spirit, students, staff and faculty are invited to visit one of the strategically located Homecoming breakfast kiosks for some energy to kick off the spirit-filled week. Kiosks will offer refreshments and information about all things Homecoming. Refreshments will be served to walking guests only. Freewill donations will support North Dakota Spirit  |  The Campaign for UND.

  • CoBPA Mellem Business Symposium, “the Business of Healthcare, Gamble Hall Room 7
    For the 2012 Mellem Business Symposium, the College of Business & Public Administration will partner with the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences to focus on "The Business of Healthcare." Business schools around the country are working to effectively train leaders in healthcare. UND has a unique opportunity in which Dr. Dennis Elbert, Dean of the College of Business & Public Administration has served on the Board of Directors for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota for the past 12 years, as well as the Altru Health System Board and United Healthcare Systems (Parkwood Place). UND is among 137 accredited U.S. medical schools, and Dr. Joshua Wynne, UND Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean for the School of Medicine & Health Sciences, is one of only 11 who holds the distinction of a MD/MBA degree. The symposium will consist of three panel discussions focused on the timely topics of: Healthcare Branding & Corporate Culture, Managing Uncertainty in the Future of Healthcare, Emerging Technology in Healthcare.   • Homecoming Royalty Ice Cream Social (11 a.m. – 1 p.m.), Memorial Union
    Get to know your royalty over a scoop of free ice cream. King and Queen nominees will serve the ice cream and participate in UND trivia and contests to showcase their worthiness as your royalty. Each candidate is associated with a local non-profit organization. Proceeds from Homecoming t-shirt sales will go to the winning candidate’s identified non-profit. Voting will be held on Wednesday at Pep Fest from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Wednesday, October 10

  • Homecoming T-Shirt Day (all day), Everywhere
    Deck the campus in green. Wear your 2012 Homecoming t-shirt to campus and the evening’s events. Be spotted sporting the shirt by one of our Homecoming Hounds and you’ll be rewarded.

  • Pep Fest (7 p.m.), Memorial Union, Ballroom
    Vote for your 2012 Homecoming King & Queen while getting to know your UND student-athletes and coaches as they participate in several spirit-rousing activities. The king and queen will be crowned at the end of the event. Voting will take place from 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Thursday, October 11

  • Homecoming Headquarters (11 a.m.-1 p.m.), Gorecki Alumni Center
    Be among the first to check out the new Gorecki Alumni Center and its opportunities for everyone on campus. Homecoming Headquarters will provide music, refreshments and games for prizes. Think of it as a pre-tailgate tailgate party.

    The Sioux Award is the highest award bestowed by the UND Alumni Association & Foundation. Honoring outstanding alumni for their contributions to their career field as well as the time, talent and treasure they’ve given to their alma mater.     - Hang posters, signs and banners around your dorm, house, yard, or business to rally around our football team
    - Sing the school song
